(Nashville, TN) PLA Media has recently expanded its
predominately entertainment roster to a more patriotic pursuit. PLA
Media has recently inked a deal to represent the Gold Leaf Corporation
and their Liberty Bike/Chopper. The Gold Leaf Corporation of
Fayetteville, TN commissioned the Spirit of Liberty Chopper to be built
by the famed Orange County Choppers who completed the bike in 2003. The
customized one of a kind bike made its debut national television
appearance on The Jay Leno Show April 7th.
The Spirit of Liberty bike will also be featured April 19th on the
Discovery ChannelΉs popular series-American Chopper. The bikeΉs
notoriety stems from its symbolized freedom and liberty representing
specifically the Statue of Liberty, which has been closed since the
tragedy of 9/11/01. The bike is entirely plated in copper preserved from
the Statue of Liberty National Monument during the restoration of
1984-1986. The copper was procured through an exclusive agreement with
the Statue of Liberty/Ellis Island Foundation, Inc. In addition, the
shift lever of the bike is made from the electric cable that was
previously part of the torch of the statue; the wheels feature a
crafted, copper head of Lady Liberty.
The Jay Leno Show was one of many appearances for the bike already
this year as it has been featured at motorcycle shows spanning the
United States from Michigan to Maryland and Florida along with mentions
in USA Today and Speed Vision TV. In summer of 2004, in conjunction
with the re-opening of the Statue of Liberty, the Spirit of Liberty bike
will tour America with the Orange County Choppers and Gold Leaf
Corporation promoting the bikeΉs tribute to America and a celebration of
freedom. When the bike is not touring its home will be at Elk Mills in
Fayettville, TN. Other artifacts will accompany it from the Statue of
Liberty and Ellis Island Foundation along with other one-of-a
kind-pieces. A tentative exhibit at the historic Elk Mills could be
scheduled as early as September.
