(Nashville, TN)‹This week¹s
Radio and Records Indicator features Ken Mellons on the Most Added Sector.
With his risqué, summer romp ³Climb My Tree² Mellons joins the Independent
brigade making a dent in the major label dominated charts.
Mellons, now signed with Home
Records, along with Koch Records country veteran David Lee Murphy, are the
sole independent representatives on the Country Radio & Records
Indicator Most Added/Increased Play categories. Ken shares his
Most Added space with heavyweights like Tim McGraw, Jimmy Buffet
and Travis Tritt (who was tied with Ken), Mellon¹s second single off his
July 27th album, Sweet, is climbing up the charts faster than
expected. Radio stations have been comparing the up-tempo hit to a 2004
version of John Anderson¹s smash ³Swingin¹.²
Ken will be on the road
supporting ³Climb My Tree² throughout the summer in conjunction with
Sweet¹s release. Mellons has already begun his nationwide promotion
traveling to Texas, Ohio, South Carolina, Oklahoma, and Virginia in the
last two weeks alone.
Sweet, Ken¹s first
full-length album in three years will hit stores nationwide July 27th
through Home Records/Sony Red. The album will feature a slew of celebrity
guest appearances from artists like Vince Gill, Rebecca Lynn Howard, Earl
Scruggs, and Ken¹s mentor, the living legend George Jones on the duet
³Institute of Honky Tonks².
