Single "Climb My Tree"
climbing the charts:
#45 at Music Row
#48 at RR Indicator
Ken Mellons will have his
first album release of original material in over three years. Previously
releasing albums with Epic and Curb Records, this is Mellon¹s first
venture with the independent outfit, the aptly titled Home Records. The
label¹s flagship artist will be releasing the album, Sweet, nationally on
August 10th in conjunction with Sony Red Distribution.
Sweet features a slew of
country music heavyweights accompanying Ken; among them are George Jones,
Vince Gill, Rebecca Lynn Howard, and Earl Scruggs. The second single off
the album, the bawdy ³Climb My Tree² has been described at radio as ³a
modern version of John Anderson¹s ŒSwingin¹.² The single is climbing the
R&R Indicator chart landing at #48 this week.
Ken will be inviting special
surprise guests to join him at his CD release party for Sweet Tuesday July
27th at Gaylord Opryland¹s new pavilion. The Tennessee Motor Coach
Assocation, Gaylord Opryland Resort, and Home Records are sponsoring the
event. The gates for the show open at 9:00 PM and the concert begins at
9:30 PM. Tickets are $15, that admission price includes a copy of Ken¹s
new album. Admission for children twelve and under is only $5 (CD not
included in that admission).
