Perry Danos Supports The Troops At
“God Bless Fort Benning Day”
Nashville artist
Perry Danos performed at the 5th Annual God Bless Fort Benning
Day November 18th in Columbus, Georgia. This was Perry’s second
year at the event and received an amazing response from soldiers,
veterans, families, and army supporters in the community. His performance
captured the true pride and patriotism of an American soldier.
Jan Pease, event
coordinator for God Bless Fort Benning Day was overwhelmed with Perry’s
performance, especially when he sang, “I Am Coming Home.” “This patriotic
song is incredible and very moving for all the troops. Perry knows how to
include the community, touch their hearts and appeal to any audience. We
thoroughly enjoyed having him and hope he can continue the tradition next
year.”
Vietnam Veteran and
West Point graduate David Mastran wrote the song “I Am Coming Home,” as a
reflection of his own experience in Vietnam missing his wife and yearning
to come home. It is a song of courage, devotion and promise. “As I started
writing songs, I felt the need to write one that we would have wanted to
sing back then and one so troops today could relate to it” explains
Mastran.
Paul Binkley,
President of Grand Vista Music, was moved by Perry’s performance. “It was
a stunning and emotional show. He performed the song “I Am Coming Home”
and gave the soldiers the appraisal they deserve.” Grand Vista Music is
the newest label on Nashville’s Music Row and the label Perry is signed
to.
An estimated 20,000
attendees filled the Columbus Civic Center for the day’s event. Dr. Jack
Tidwell founded the celebration as a way to support the troops and say
thank you. This event started out a small gathering and now has grown to
become the largest military support rally in the county.
