Meridian Joins Rascal Flatts, Patty Loveless and

More At Nashville Grammy Block Party

(Nashville, TN)--The female country duo Meridian will make only their third live appearance at this year’s 6th Annual Nashville Grammy Block Party next Tuesday, May 11th. With a rain date scheduled for Wednesday, May 12, 2004. The event will take place at the NARAS office at 1904 Wedgewood Ave and will begin at 4:30 PM. The event is free to current NARAS members and $20 for non-members and guests.

Meridian’s set will begin at 5:40 PM and will be joining the roster of Matthew West, Laura Dodd, Josh Turner, Patty Loveless, and Rascal Flatts who are all also performing at the night’s festivities.

Meridian was recently chosen out of 6,000 applicants to perform a showcase at the legendary Broken Spoke at the prestigious SXSW Festival. The girls were also personally chosen by Charlie Feldman to again showcase during SXSW at the industry BMI Brunch. They are back in Nashville this summer finishing up material for their forthcoming debut album.

The duo of Meridian is composed of two singer-songwriters, Marilyn Barclay and MC Potts. Forming one year ago, both are accomplished musicians in their own right. Marilyn plays upright bass and acoustic guitar and boasts a vocal Master’s degree from Julliard. MC Potts is a consummate entertainer with years of experience not only in music but also in stand-up and improvisational comedy in New York City.
