Meridian Joins Rascal Flatts, Patty
Loveless and
More At Nashville Grammy Block Party
(Nashville, TN)--The
female country duo Meridian will make only their third live appearance at
this years 6th Annual Nashville Grammy Block Party next
Tuesday, May 11th. With a rain date scheduled for Wednesday,
May 12, 2004. The event will take place at the NARAS office at
1904 Wedgewood Ave and will begin at 4:30 PM. The event is free to current
NARAS members and $20 for non-members and guests.
Meridians set will begin at
5:40 PM and will be joining the roster of Matthew West, Laura Dodd, Josh
Turner, Patty Loveless, and Rascal Flatts who are all also performing at
the nights festivities.
Meridian was recently chosen
out of 6,000 applicants to perform a showcase at the legendary Broken
Spoke at the prestigious SXSW Festival. The girls were also personally
chosen by Charlie Feldman to again showcase during SXSW at the industry
BMI Brunch. They are back in Nashville this summer finishing up material
for their forthcoming debut album.
The duo of Meridian is
composed of two singer-songwriters, Marilyn Barclay and MC Potts. Forming
one year ago, both are accomplished musicians in their own right. Marilyn
plays upright bass and acoustic guitar and boasts a vocal Masters degree
from Julliard. MC Potts is a consummate entertainer with years of
experience not only in music but also in stand-up and improvisational
comedy in New York City.
