Bluegrass Along The Harpeth Festival Returns To Historic Franklin
Traditionally held the 4th weekend in July, Bluegrass Along the Harpeth began in 1990 and has made its home on the Franklin town square. This year the event will take place on Friday, July 21st (7:00PM-10:00PM) and Saturday, July 22nd (beginning at 10:00AM).
The historic backdrop is the perfect place for a weekend of music to honor Franklin’s own Grand Ole Opry stars Sam and Kirk McGee. This festival is put on and operated by long time musicians and dancers. Their love for the music and its preservation makes this festival special and a must attend event every year. Franklin icon, Tommy Jackson, is organizer and this fun event is open to the public. Some seating is available, but you might want to bring your own chair.
Friday night will include the best bluegrass bands around for a relaxing evening and end to the work week. On Saturday, you will find musicians competing in individual instruments and band contests. In addition to all of the music, there are food and craft vendors that are sure to have something to satisfy a sweet tooth or be that one-of-a-kind gift you have been wanting.
This free event will be fun for the whole family. All proceeds will benefit the Williamson County Cultural Arts Commission.
