Bookfinity Launches The “Moodie Awards” Giving Readers The Opportunity To Select The Best Books Of 2021 Based On Mood
Bookfinity™ is introducing the inaugural Moodie Awards, the first award for books based on the impact on readers’ moods this year. Highlighting books released in 2021 that span six moods – happy, empowered, inspired, informed, amused, and scared – the Moodie Awards are open for voting at bookfinity.com through December 31. Winners will be announced on January 10.
“Bookfinity’s mission is to connect readers to books they will love. We know your reading taste is unique and with Bookfinity, your book recommendations reflect that. Our twist on the end-of-the-year book awards was inspired by Bookfinity’s unique book review criteria,” said Brian McKinley, Vice President of Marketing and Customer Care at Bookfinity’s company (Ingram Content Group). “On Bookfinity, we go beyond the basic star-rating system. Readers give feedback based on the impact a certain book had on them while they were reading – very much the way you would describe a book to a friend.”
Each “moodie” category has five books nominated that span multiple genres, but all elicit a particular mood:
Happy – Vote for the book that boosted your mood and brightened your spirits.
Empowered – Select the book that cheered on your soul.
Inspired – Choose the book that motivated you.
Informed – Honor the book that gifted you with a new perspective.
Amused – Whether you were laughing out loud, riding on the roller coaster of life or just delightfully entertained, this is the category for you.
Scared – No ifs, ands, or shrieks about it, this category had your hands shaking as you clenched to turn the next page.
Book lovers can vote at bookfinity.com/vote. Winners of the inaugural Moodie Awards will be announced on the Bookfinity website on January 10.

About Bookfinity
Bookfinity ™ makes the process of selecting your next read both fun and easy and, in the process, aims to expand book discoverability, bolster book sales and get more great books in the hands of readers. Readers simply go online and take a quick quiz that will help them discover their “Reader Type.” From there, they will receive customized book recommendations. Unlike other online tools that make recommendations based on genres, the Bookfinity technology goes much deeper – providing insightful recommendations that cut across genres and styles based on a reader’s overall personality, interests, and reading behavior. When book lovers find a book they want to try, they can easily be connected with the industry’s leading book retailers.
Through propriety technology and metadata, Bookfinity generates personalized title recommendations that readers can rate on a “Like it or Lose it” scale that will further customize their book list. Wondering what Reader Type you might fall into? There are nearly 20 Reader Types including the subject matter expert, beach reader, trendsetter, woke up like this, young at heart, cool mom/dad, spiritual seeker, lifelong learner, world traveler, game day hero, mountain climber, dissenter, and time traveler – just to name a few.
