Buckstein Has Fans Emerging From Their Lockdown “Comfort Zone” To Hit Dance And Country Club Scenes Again With His New EP
As the temperatures rise, so is the buzz surrounding Comfort Zone, the latest EP from the Colorado country cowboy Buckstein. The project, releasing Friday, July 9, will certainly be a summer playlist favorite as the nation begins to gather in a post-pandemic summer. Buckstein is celebrating his EP release by kicking off a tour across his native state of Colorado beginning June 30 at Live! At the Lake in Greenwood Village. The fan-favorite artist will be sharing his songs from Comfort Zone throughout venues in Winter Park, Denver, Aurora, Castle Rock, Wheat Ridge, Fort Morgan, Grand Lake and Dillion. Full details on the shows are below.
Buckstein recently spoke about his songwriting process with American Songwriter Magazine stating: “Sometimes, it starts with a title, sometimes it starts with a melody, sometimes it starts with an ‘Oh shit, that’s good’ moment at a bar with your buddies. I’ve done it all kinds of ways. Some of my more recent work has started with a title and then I’ll just sing whatever pops into my head from that idea, almost like a jingle. Then, my producer and I will expand from there, and like a block of solid wood we chip away at it until we’ve got art. I wouldn’t say any of these methods is better than the other and I suspect I’ll never land on a preferred way to write songs. Part of what I love about the craft is that there are so many different routes to travel to your destination,” says Buckstein.
American Songwriter praised the debut single from release saying, “With a laid-back, feel-good energy and an anthemic, belt-it-at-the-top-of-your-lungs chorus, the single [Lucky Day] really does embody that free-wheelin’ spirit forged by [Robert Earl] Keen and his fellow Texan troubadours. While the country boy heart beating in Buckstein’s chest has a lot to do with why he’s able to hit that mark so effortlessly, he explained that having an open mind is a key piece of the puzzle too.”
The 6’4″ cowboy heartthrob premiered the lead single in an exclusive spotlight with the Digital Journal and is featured in the Academy of Country Music’s ACM New Music Friday playlist.

“To command a stage the way Buckstein does speaks huge volumes for his level of talent. There is something very magnetic between Buckstein and his audience that you see immediately and it lasts through the entire show. This guy is a true entertainer!”

About Buckstein
For deep-voiced country singer Buckstein, his music speaks from a place that we can all relate to. Leading with his everyday, up-tempo songs that leave you free of worry and ready for anything, Buckstein’s music commands audiences to look beyond the country genre. Maybe that’s why people so often tell him, “I don’t like country, but I like you.”
Buckstein inherited his love of country music from his father. “It only takes one good country song to hook you,” Buckstein warned. As artists from Garth Brooks and Hank Williams to Sam Cooke and Elvis rang through the radio airwaves at home, he became enthralled.
Buckstein has been making memorable music for over a decade. With his forthcoming EP, he has refocused his sound and proven that these last years have come with a lot of self-discovery. Alongside the good vibe tunes that give you a reason to smile after a hard day, his songwriting depth will also be display with his new release. Buckstein’s lyrics leave fans with the feeling that he might just be singing about them. If that’s not evidence enough of a great song, and a performance to match — Buckstein revealed his vulnerability on this upcoming project by showcasing his prowess as a romantic balladeer.
Reared a country boy at heart while living in the city, the juxtaposition of these two worlds would shape his artistry and approach to life. He had the opportunity to explore outside-the-box musical influences while often taking a retreat on horseback into the Rocky Mountains of Colorado.
For Buckstein, his music has also been a way to connect and break down feelings from everyday conversations. “Music, especially country, is a way to communicate, to speak our truth, to build a community around timeless old-world ideals: honesty, integrity, facing your fears, caring for others,” he says.
During a time of fear, uncertainty and growth as a country, he found comfort and solace in his writing and even channeled an adaptation of an American standard which he shares on the new EP showcasing how he used his skills to fuel a search for empathy and understanding. Whether it’s his large-frame and deep drawl, his soul-searching lyrics, or his “no fear of the edge” mentality, Buckstein’s sound draws you in to stay. It’s a sound built on a life of discovery that he’s developed since he first stepped into the role of a performer at summer camp at age 11. A role and passion that he crafted when he attended California State University and one that took roots across stages in the shadows of the Rockies when he hit the road opening for the genres leaders and hit makers. That journey has landed him on national shows and in the spotlight as a regional leader for Colorado’s country scene.
