Mandy Barnett And Monica Ramey To Present “Variety On Main – An Unforgettable Night Of Music” At Franklin Theatre On May 20

Country music icon and Grand Ole Opry member, Mandy Barnett, along with celebrated jazz vocalist Monica Ramey, are set to present an evening of spectacular musical performances at Franklin Theatre on May 20th for Variety on Main. This one-night-only event will feature a lineup of talented artists, including Lynn Marie & E3, harmonica virtuoso Charlie McCoy, bluegrass favorites The Kody Norris Show, singer-songwriter Victoria Shaw, actress and musician Alicia Witt and jazz ensemble Pat Coil and the Main Stays.

This eclectic variety show skillfully integrates acts from both established performers and emerging talents, spanning different genres and offering entertainment to all generations.

About Mandy Barnett

Mandy Barnett first gained national prominence as the original star of the musical “Always…Patsy Cline” at Nashville’s famed Ryman Auditorium. Barnett, as Cline, performed on the original cast soundtrack album and was the only actress to have played the role on the historic Ryman stage where Cline’s legend began.

Barnett’s style is rooted in the classic country and pop crooning of iconic singers and timeless sounds. With The End Of The World, Barnett delivers a powerhouse performance that she is so well known for. The Chicago Tribune calls Barnett “a torch singer in the grandest sense of the word.” Time, People, Billboard, Rolling Stone, and many others extol Barnett’s world-class vocals, “natural musicality” (People), “big, silky, expressive voice” (Billboard), and “vocal finesse” (New York Times). USA Today calls Barnett one of Nashville’s “finest classic country and torch singers,” while the Austin Chronicle notes that “when people start talking about Mandy Barnett, eventually the word ‘amazing’ gets used.”

With a string of acclaimed country albums, there’s no doubt Barnett has mastered that genre and holds it dear to her heart. A frequent guest on the Grand Ole Opry, Barnett’s music has been featured in many major film and television soundtracks including The CW Network’s series “The Flash.” She has appeared on “The Tonight Show,” “The Late Show,” “CBS Sunday Morning,” PBS’s “Sessions at West 54th,” PBS’s “Bluegrass Underground,” and numerous other programs.

Barnett recently made her New York City cabaret debut at Feinstein’s/54 Below this year with an acoustic version of her “Nashville Songbook” concert, to standing ovations. No doubt with new appreciation for this treasure trove of classic country hits, her version of The End Of The World will resonate with audiences once again.

Next up for Barnett is an album of torch songs originally recorded by Billie Holiday and performed with a spectacular 60-piece orchestra, arranged by the iconic 95-year-old Sammy Nestico and once again produced by Mollin, who founded Melody Place with Leigh Shockey.

About Monica Ramey

Monica Ramey, originally from Francesville, Indiana, began her journey in music early, performing by age three and starring in local and professional Broadway productions by eleven. Educated at the Los Angeles County High School of the Arts, she was selected for the GRAMMY™ National All American High School Jazz Band and Choir, which profoundly influenced her commitment to jazz. Monica studied Music Performance at Indiana State University, becoming a favored performer at university events. After interning for the NARAS Foundation in Los Angeles, she moved to Nashville in 2000, immersing herself in the jazz scene through the Nashville Jazz Workshop.

Monica’s debut album, “Make Someone Happy,” featured standards and original tunes, receiving international airplay. Her second album showcased her collaboration with the Beegie Adair Trio, blending classic and forgotten jazz songs with new compositions. Her third album, “Some Enchanted Evening,” was a dream project of Broadway classics, followed by a Christmas album in 2019. In 2020, Monica was involved in multiple projects, including singing with Clifton Davis and producing a YouTube series during the pandemic.

Currently, Monica co-produces and presents “Variety on Main” at the Franklin Theatre and manages Adair Music Group, LLC. She performs regularly at venues like Birdland and supports various charitable organizations, maintaining a passion for music, travel, and gardening.
