Long time Franklin resident and preservationist Pam Lewis was honored this year at the Save The Franklin Battlefield’s (STFB) annual membership dinner and award banquet, which was held at St. Paul’s Otey Hall in Franklin. Lewis was presented with the Tennie Pinkerton Dozier Award for her dedication and leadership in preserving the Harrison House, the Franklin Battlefield and Middle Tennessee history. “I am both humbled and honored,” said Lewis, “I’m usually the person behind the scenes helping other people get awards; so, this is a new experience for me.”

Audience members included her mother Joan Lewis, whom she credited with her love of history, Mary Pearce, Bo and Carolyn Stewart, Dr. Sam Gant, Julian Bibb, Jim Hoobler, Dana Blickwielder, Alma MeLemore, Nancy Conway, Nancy Bassett, Sam Huffman, former alderman Mike Skinner, Brian and Lisa Beathard, Mike Walker, Angela and Porter Calhoun, Hunter Kay among others.

Lewis has held board positions on The Tennessee State Museum Board, Tennessee Preservation trust, Heritage Foundation, Music Row Preservation Trust and served as alderman, vice mayor and planning commissioner for the city of Franklin during a pivotal time of land reclamation for the city.
