PLA Media Adds Colorado Country Singer, Songwriter, Performer, and Public Health Advocate Buckstein To Its Award-Winning Roster
PLA Media is excited to announce the addition of Colorado fan favorite Buckstein to its renowned roster as he prepares to release a breakout single, forthcoming EP and embark on a summer tour across the Rocky Mountain West.
The Mile High Native has been donning stages and honing his craft since age 11 and will be unveiling a project that covers a wide spectrum for the country genre with tracks spotlighting his emotive baritone ballads, new-grass rooted lanes of country and the leading contemporary sounds.
In addition to his music endeavors, when the pandemic struck in 2020 and he had to come off the stage, he took action by assisting in the development and coordination of COVID-19 testing centers across the Denver area.
Buckstein joins a client list that features ACM, CMA and Grammy award-winning artist and Broadway actor Gary Morris, the Drug Enforcement Administration’s Educational Foundation and The Tina Turner Museum, among many others.
“When Buckstein’s management team brought the new project to our office, we were blown away,” says PLA Media Executive Director Mark Logsdon. “His baritone voice soars across this EP and his passion for country music, inclusivity, community outreach and the love for his home state are boldly authentic and unique. We are elated to be a part of his team.”
Buckstein made his national debut as a contestant on American Idol on the hit show’s fifth season. After singing in the homes of over 200 million viewers worldwide on the season’s finale, Buckstein headed home to Denver with a new-found passion for music. Since then, he has built a grassroots following with his band, “The Heard” opening up for Charlie Daniels, Kane Brown, , Kip Moore, Dustin Lynch, Old Dominion, Eli Young Band, Midland, Mark Chesnutt, Clay Walker, Aaron Watson, Vanilla Ice and many more. Across his home state, fans will recognize Buckstein as the vocalist behind the regional hit The Grizzly Rose, paying homage to the iconic Denver venue. He also was a regular on the listener favorite “Write A Song Wednesday” segment at Denver’s KYGO-FM.
“To command a stage the way Buckstein does speaks huge volumes for his level of talent. There is something very magnetic between Buckstein and his audience that you see immediately and it lasts through the entire show. This guy is a true entertainer!” – Tracy Dixon, KYGO-FM Denver Morning Show
“Buckstein is a house favorite here. He is one of the most requested and talked about artists we have. He lights up any size crowd, loves his fans and shows no fear on the main stage. It is obvious to anyone that sees him live that it’s just a matter of time before he’s headlining bigger and bigger venues.” – The Grizzly Rose Dance Hall and Saloon, Denver, CO
Fans can expect the lead single release from his EP in early June with the full EP slated for a July release.

About Buckstein
For deep-voiced country singer Buckstein, his music speaks from a place that we can all relate to. Leading with his everyday, up-tempo songs that leave you free of worry and ready for anything, Buckstein’s music commands audiences to look beyond the country genre. Maybe that’s why people so often tell him, “I don’t like country, but I like you.”
Buckstein inherited his love of country music from his father. “It only takes one good country song to hook you,” Buckstein warned. As artists from Garth Brooks and Hank Williams to Sam Cooke and Elvis rang through the radio airwaves at home, he became enthralled.
Buckstein has been making memorable music for over a decade. With his forthcoming EP, he has refocused his sound and proven that these last years have come with a lot of self-discovery. Alongside the good vibe tunes that give you a reason to smile after a hard day, his songwriting depth will also be display with his new release. Buckstein’s lyrics leave fans with the feeling that he might just be singing about them. If that’s not evidence enough of a great song, and a performance to match — Buckstein revealed his vulnerability on this upcoming project by showcasing his prowess as a romantic balladeer.
Reared a country boy at heart while living in the city, the juxtaposition of these two worlds would shape his artistry and approach to life. He had the opportunity to explore outside-the-box musical influences while often taking a retreat on horseback into the Rocky Mountains of Colorado.
For Buckstein, his music has also been a way to connect and break down feelings from everyday conversations. “Music, especially country, is a way to communicate, to speak our truth, to build a community around timeless old-world ideals: honesty, integrity, facing your fears, caring for others,” he says.
During a time of fear, uncertainty and growth as a country, he found comfort and solace in his writing and even channeled an adaptation of an American standard which he shares on the new EP showcasing how he used his skills to fuel a search for empathy and understanding. Whether it’s his large-frame and deep drawl, his soul-searching lyrics, or his “no fear of the edge” mentality, Buckstein’s sound draws you in to stay. It’s a sound built on a life of discovery that he’s developed since he first stepped into the role of a performer at summer camp at age 11. A role and passion that he crafted when he attended California State University and one that took roots across stages in the shadows of the Rockies when he hit the road opening for the genres leaders and hit makers. That journey has landed him on national shows and in the spotlight as a regional leader for Colorado’s country scene.
