PLA Media Amps Up Its Roster with Union Gray – A Country Rock Revelation
PLA Media is humbled to welcome seasoned country rock band, Union Gray, to its stellar roster.
Comprising of an all-star lineup of veteran musicians, Union Gray lives and breathes country music. Founded by frontman Scott Gray, lead guitarist David Mahn, and drummer Matt Morse, Union Gray has remained connected through their shared passion for the music that inspires them, from songwriting legends such as Bob Seger and Tom Petty to contemporaries like Cody Canada and Adam Hood.
Union Gray’s influences run deep. Their music is a smoky barroom, a starlit summer night, and the open road, all rolled into a single experience. They’re melodies swirling with the dust and dreams of heartland heartbreakers. It’s not just songs they’re singing; it’s life’s tales spun for those who want to feel each strum in their bones and truth in their hearts.
“I’ve known Scott a number of years now,” says Adam Hood, a singer, songwriter and touring artist. “He’s committed to his craft and it shows in the progression of his recordings. The music is pure and soulful and that only comes from the good places in the heart.”
“Scott Gray has an amazing pedigree, working with Jim ‘Moose’ Brown, Chris Leuzinger, Bob Bullock, and Steve Hinson,” says PLA President, Pam Lewis. “The country rock band Union Gray are musical mainstays and hold their own with memorable grooves and well-crafted lyrics.”
“Union Gray couldn’t be more excited about joining Pam Lewis and her rockin’ team at PLA! They come with a tremendous reputation in the industry and I can’t think of anyone better to help take Union Gray to the next level,” enthuses member Scott Gray.
About Union Gray
Hailing from the heart of the Rockies, Union Gray is a fusion of mountain spirit, high plains heart, and a love for all things country. Led by Scott Gray, 2022’s Colorado Country Music Hall of Fame’s “Entertainer of the Year,” Union Gray is about crafting experiences, connecting with the crowd and moving hearts. Formed like the best legacies, Union Gray’s roots run deep. They cut their teeth playing sounds that are Rocky Mountain raised and Texas seasoned. They sing about life’s tales for those who want to feel music in their souls.
The band has a new album arriving early May which in addition to the core band, includes Grammy award-winning songwriter, producer and session player Jim “Moose” Brown (Jimmy Buffet, Alan Jackson), Chris Leuzinger (Garth Brooks, Elton John, Dolly Parton), probably best known for playing electric guitar on all of Garth Brooks career records, and Steve Hinson (Trace Adkins, Kenny Chesney, Josh Turner), long time member of Randy Travis’ band, on lap steel.
The project, titled “Rocky Mountain Raised” was cut at Sound Kitchen in Franklin, TN with Kyle Hershman engineering and is being mixed and co-produced by Bob Bullock, whose credits while living in Nashville boasts over fifty gold and platinum albums, including Shania Twain, Reba McEntire, George Strait, Tanya Tucker, and George Jones.
